A Mayhew Family Xmas 1998

This is a picture of the antique silver tree that my mom and dad put up every year. At the base of the revolving stand, are two reflectors that change the tree different colors as it revolves. I can remember being mesmerized just watching it as a kid.

This is a picture of the tree in my home. As you can see it is a bit more modern. The ornaments that hang on the tree are ones that I have been collecting for the past 10 years. I really enjoy hanging the ornaments each year and reflecting on the year the ornament was selected.

This is a picture of mom and dad preparing their answers for a game of Balderdash. We have a Mayhew family tradition of playing board games on the eves of Christmas and New Years. I think Tina won this particular one.

This is a picture of Tina enjoying some holiday cheer during the holidays.

Here is a prime example of how too much holiday cheer could lead to embarrasing situations as she demonstrates her dancing ability in the living room.

Here is a picture of the wreath that hangs in my dining room and the hand-made ceramic nativity set on the table below it. Also on the walls are some of the cards I received from family and friends this Christmas.

This is a picture of the large ceramic village that consumes our porch each Christmas. At last count there were over 30 buildings and about 60 ceramic people. In the village square there is a skating rink, gazebo, large lighted tree, lighted Christmas signs and working water fountain.

Finally a shot of the outside of our house. Each year we try to add something new to add to the impressive display. We have been decorating the outside of our house for Christmas for the past 10 years. Cars often pull up and people get out and take photos and walk around the house. We really enjoy making the holiday season more enjoyable for others.
