| This is a picture of the front side of the capitol building. There sure were a lot of steps that you had to go up in order to get inside. Luckily for us, we ended up getting into the Capitol by taking a special subway that connects the capitol to the House and Senate buildings. |

| This is a photo of the grand chandelier inside the capitol building. Our tour guide told us that it takes 4 maids several days to clean this chandelier once every two years. |

| This is the Hall of Statues inside the Capitol building. Each Representative of congress gets to pick two statues to be placed somewhere in the Capitol and sometimes in the hall of statues. Our representative picked Livingston and Clinton ( not Bill) as his statues. Livingston was the author of the constitution and Clinton was a famous general in our area (our city's Clinton's ditch is named for him). |

This is a picture of one of the newest statues. It is an astronaut named Colorado. Tommy sure looks awful small next to this very tall statue. |

| This is a picture of Tommy and Tina under the statue of Livingston. This was one of the two statues our Representative, Sherwood Boehlert picked to represent him. This statue was in the Hall of Statues. |

This is a picture of the Capitol taken from Capitol park. On the day we visited the Capitol, we ended up walking there from our hotel which was about .5 miles away. Our feet were tired when we got there because most of the trip was up hill. That must be why they call it Capitol Hill :) |

| This is a picture of Tina taking a snapshot in the Hall of Statues. While we were in this building, we actually got to go into the Congressional Floor where all of our Congressmen cast their votes. It is also where our President gives the annual State of the Union Address. The room is actually a lot smaller than it appears on TV. We also learned that the backs of all the chairs in the room are bullet proof. |

| This is a picture of the Capitol building taken from the middle of Independence Avenue. Luckily, there was a section in the middle of the road where we could stand and snap the picture. Otherwise, we would have gotten run over. |
